Site of a Civil War battle that occurred on October 21, 1861, there have been several reports of hauntings in this area.
Ball's Bluff is located in Leesburg, Virginia, in Loudoun County.
The battle took place between the Union troops, led by Charles P. Stone, and the Confederates, led by Nathan G. Evans.
The forces were roughly the same, yet the loss of life is remarkably one-sided. With 1720 Union troops and 1709 Confederate troops, there were an estimated 1002 casualties for the Union and only 149 casualties for the Confederates. This battle was a clear-cut victory for the South.
